Dancing Buck
USA
Dancing Buck began his career as a 2-year-old on the final day of 2020 with a maiden win on a sloppy main track at Aqueduct. He began his 3-year-old campaign back at Aqueduct and earned his first win of 2021 when switched to a turf sprint for the first time in a New York-bred allowance race on April 17, 2021. Later in 2021, Dancing Buck showed his affinity for the Aqueduct turf course once again when he won an allowance optional claiming race on Nov. 18 to close out his season.
Dancing Buck blossomed as a turf sprinter in his 4-year-old season in 2022. He won back-to-back races at Belmont Park on June 16 and then Saratoga on July 29 ran a tough-luck second by a nose in the $150,000 Lucky Coin Stakes at Saratoga on Sept. 2.
Dancing Buck earned his first stakes victory in his next start in the Grade 3 $200,000 Belmont Turf Sprint on Oct. 1 at Belmont at the Big A (Aqueduct). In that race, he went wire-to-wire to top a nine-horse field in a time of 1:09.60 for the 6 furlongs run over a yielding turf course.
Dancing Buck is a dark bay or brown New York-bred son of War Dancer out of the mare Frivolous Buck by Catienus.
