Meadow Star unleashed a rousing stretch run in the 1990 Juvenile Fillies to cap an undefeated season, establishing herself as not only the best young filly of the year, but as a contender for the following year's Kentucky Derby. At odds of 1-to-5, she was at the time, the heaviest favorite in Breeders' Cup history.
She would stretch the undefeated streak to nine before finishing fourth in the Wood Memorial Stakes at Aqueduct in 1991, her first loss.
Meadow Star won 11 races in her brilliant career, six of them Grade 1 stakes, including the Spinaway, Matron, and Frizette Stakes at age two, and the Acorn and Mother Goose Stakes at age three. Meadow Star finished her career in the 1992 Breeders' Cup Distaff at Gulfstream Park, where she finished seventh.
