Earned a spot in the Breeders' Cup Sprint via a Breeders' Cup Challenge victory in the Ancient Title Handicap at Oak Tree at Santa Anita on Saturday, September 27, 2008.
Strengths: Vastly improved animal since coming into the care of trainer John Sadler, who claimed him for $50,000 on July 28, 2008. Showed great patience in winning the Grade 1 Ancient Title, stalking the speed and getting the early jump on classy rivals Street Boss and In Summation.
Weaknesses: Has started three times for a claiming tag in his career, so class certainly comes into question (note: 2006 Mile winner Miesque’s Approval also dabbled in the claiming ranks). Reasonable to question as a handicapper how much starch his meteoric rise from claimer to Grade 1 winner has taken out of a 5-year-old who had made only 10 career starts.
